“Stay Up” serves as the third promotional single from KayCyy, expected to be on his upcoming debut studio album, WHO IS KAYCYY. The song features English rapper, Lancey Foux, who KayCyy has not worked before. In the song, the two talk about their lavish lifestyles.

KayCyy first teased this song, via his Twitter page, where he announced that the song would be originally dropping on June 17, 2021.

The song missed it’s release on that day and it was not teased for months, up until September 15, 2021, where KayCyy teased on his Twitter page nearly thirty seconds of the song, and announced that Lancey would be the lead feature of the song.

On September 25, 2021, KayCyy revealed the official cover art of the song, but had not announced an official release date. On September 29, KayCyy announced that the song was about to be pushed back to another year, despite getting the greenlight to release the song. He then told his fans to run the post up, to see an official release.

It saw an official release three days later, on October 1, 2021, originally only on YouTube. The music video, which released on January 12, 2022, was directed by ABOVEGROUND.

Over the span of 2022, KayCyy had teased the song again to be released on all streaming platforms. On February 16, KayCyy confirmed that the song would be dropping on all streaming platforms. Three days later, the song would eventually drop on all streaming platforms, after much anticipation.
